THESIS STATEMENT

The World's Fairs presented a center for the interaction of different civilizations to exchange their culture while exploring revolutionary inventions. The exposure of different countries' lifestyles and customs was a common feature of every fair because there were displays of various societies shown through booths and replicas of villages. The circulation of neoteric conventions and ideas on a global stage helped to connect the world. Although the transfer of differing manners of life was a significant aspect of the World's Fairs, the technological advancements were a greater element to the fairs as it allowed the world to modernize together.
"Ever since the first world’s fair in London in 1851, the goals of world’s fairs have been both high-minded as well as commercial. They also allow people to explore the world outside of their everyday experience — outside cultures, new scientific advancements, and new inventions." (ExpoMuseum.com)
